June 5 Last Day For All Programs

June 15 First Day For Summer Programs

END OF YEAR THANKS – MESSAGE FROM SUZETTE
As our academic year is about to wrap up, (tomorrow, Thursday, June 8th is the last day), I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent community for their support during this school year. It may take a village to help raise our children, but it also takes a village to run a school like DVMS. So a big thank you to all the Room Parents, Parent’s Club Executive Committee & Committee Chairs, the DVMS Board of Directors and each of you who stepped up to volunteer to shovel tanbark, drive on field trips, bring snacks, take photographs,…fill in the blank. We are so lucky to have families that participate!
I also want to extend my thanks to our wonderful staff, both administrative and teaching staff. We are so fortunate to have a caring staff who know what their responsibilities are and take them seriously.
ALOHA
This year four of our long time teachers are saying goodbye to us.
  • Ms. Marilyn, our Kindergarten Enrichment teacher, Extended Care Coordinator is retiring from her teaching assignments, but I am thankful she will continue to do a few hours of administrative work weekly. Marilyn has worn many hats at DMVS being a parent,  teaching first and second grade when we had elementary and serving as Head of School.
  • Ms. Shirley will retire from DVMS at the end of the summer. Shirley has shared her love of learning, travel, cooking, books and so much more with the children who passed through her classroom.
  • Ms. Jenny will retire at the end of this school year. Jenny has provided such loving, nurturing care of our children. She taught the full day twos class for many years and in recent years has worked with our pre-school/kindergarten children.
  • Ms. Moni, our beloved late day extended care teacher is also retiring. She greeted every child coming to her with a smile, a hug and made them feel welcome. Please click HERE to read Moni’s own words.
All of these ladies have given so much of their lives to benefit the children and families and co-workers from DVMS. I know you join me in wishing them all the best and continued enjoyment wherever life’s adventures take them. They will be missed.
